Eskom Unveils New Wind Turbine Generator

August 23, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] Power utility Eskom recently opened its Klipheuwel wind farm north of Cape Town with a 660 kW Vestas unit. Eskom has budgeted US$4.6 million for a three-year wind energy research program that will see three turbines of different types and sizes with a combined output of 3.2 MW commissioned at Klipheuwel by the end of the year.
