Bejing, China [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Envision Energy Co. Ltd. Services has signed a contract for wind turbine certification with Germanischer Lloyd (GL). The contract includes A-Design Assessments of six turbine designs and includes certification for a 1.5-megawatt (MW) onshore wind turbine (EN 15-77 and EN 15-82) for both 50 Hz- and 60 Hz-markets.
The assessments of the 1.5 MW wind turbine is the first step toward certification for Envision Energy. GL has started work under the contract and will release the first statements on the compliance of the turbine following the A-Design Assessment in 2010.
For GL this contract is another step into the dynamic Chinese renewable market after starting with an D-Design Assessment for the same turbine platform. Envision Energy’s business comprises research & development, manufacturing, sales and maintenance of advanced-technology wind turbine generators.
Envision has set up a research and development center in Denmark, while its manufacturing base is located in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, China. The company said that it has the first wind turbine moving assembly line in the world with that will have produced 1.8 GW of turbines by end of 2009.
