Energy Outfitters, a national distributor of solar electric components and integrated renewable energy systems, will host a comprehensive Dealer-Installer Tech Forum October 17-18 in Grants Pass, Oregon — the company’s corporate headquarters.Grants Pass, Oregon – October 1, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The forum will create a base of factory-trained technicians for the new ETL-listed FX2000 Inverter/Charger from OutBack Power Systems. Participants in the two-day training will assemble and test working inverters from the ground up to understand OutBack’s modular design. They will also develop a comprehensive understanding of the FX2000’s built-in programming and diagnostics. “The FX2000 is designed to be serviced in the field and this training is the first step in creating a national network of factory-trained technicians able to provide professional turnkey installations and responsive trouble shooting,” said Bob Maynard, Energy Outfitters President. “These inverters should never have to be pulled off the wall and returned. This gives the installer an opportunity to deliver excellent customer service, plus it also eliminates a time-consuming and very expensive exchange problem.” Christopher Frietas, an OutBack Power System’s engineer and FX2000 design team member, will lead the training. The Tech Forum’s training will also include instruction on OutBack’s new MX60 Charge Controller and “Mate” remote control, both designed to integrate with the FX2000. Participants will engage in small group, hands-on training during the two-day event. In addition to the training on OutBack’s new equipment, representatives from two other major manufacturers will address the session. In addition to Frietas, the presenters for the Energy Outfitters-sponsored Tech Forum are: – Arthur Rudin, Director of Engineering for Sharp Solar Systems Division, will discuss technical specifications of Sharp PV module products and discuss PV design considerations. – John Berdner, President of SMA America, Inc., will provide a solar market review and forecast as well as introduce the latest Sunny Boy inverters. – Bob Maynard, President of Energy Outfitters will discuss RpowrTM integrated power centers and reserve power systems and ETL listing and code considerations.
