Consumers can learn how to save energy and money at home from experts who specialize in energy efficient and Renewable Energy products and services at the Consumer Energy Expo June 21 – 22.GOLDEN, Colorado – June 12, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The event is hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in conjunction with Colorado Energy Science Center (CESC). The Expo at NREL’s Visitors Center includes exhibits and activities for the entire family. Representatives of nearly 30 local businesses and organizations specializing in Renewable Rnergy and energy efficiency technologies will be on hand to answer questions and provide product and service demonstrations. Friday, June 21, noon until 4 p.m.- Learn about Renewable Energy and energy efficiency from nearly 30 product and services exhibits. Saturday, June 22, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Education sessions on solar energy, efficient cooling and other topics will be held throughout the day. Local businesses and organizations will provide product and service demonstrations highlighting the latest available technologies. Children will have the chance to learn about energy through special children’s activities. The Consumer Energy Expo is free and open to the public. The NREL Visitors Center is located at 15013 Denver West Parkway in Golden. NREL is a national laboratory owned by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by Midwest Research Institute, Battelle and Bechtel. The lab conducts research into wind energy, plant-derived fuels and chemicals, energy-efficient buildings, solar energy, advanced vehicle design and hydrogen technologies.
