EDF Commissions 70-MW Wind Farm in Italy

EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned a 70-megawatt (MW) wind farm in Italy. The Campidano wind farm in Sardinia is equipped with 35 Vestas V90 2-MW wind turbines.

The project is held jointly by EDFEN Italia, a 95%-owned subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, and by Fri-El Green Power, EDF’s local partner. With the commisioning of Campidano, EDF Energies Nouvelles has completed its fourth wind farm in Italy.

The group commissioned the 22-MW Nurri project in Sardinia during 2004. They also commisioned the 70-MW Andretta Bisaccia project in Campania during 2005 and the 72-MW Sant’Agata project in Puglia during 2007.
