Converteam Wins 200 MW West Texas Order

Converteam’s technology should be plugging power into the Texas grid by 2011 at a $1 billion wind farm seen as the most significant instance of American-Chinese co-operation in renewable energy.

China-based A-Power Energy will be exporting its turbines for the first time for the wind farm and is working on the plant with Shenyang Power Group and with affiliates of US Renewable Energy Group and Cielo Power.

Converters for this order will be manufactured in Germany and Shanghai. Converteam claims a market share of 25% and market leadership in non-integrated wind converters
