Consulting Firm Purchases 100% Wind Energy

The Trium Group, a strategy and leadership development consulting firm, has launched their Sustainable Strategies Consulting Practice based on helping clients create long-term competitive advantage through business strategies built around principles of economic, social and environmental sustainability.

San Francisco, California – March 24, 2003 [] Reflecting the values underlying the new Practice area, Trium inaugurated the launch by committing to purchase 100 percent wind energy for 2003 and beyond. The Trium Group will power its San Francisco and Boston facilities with clean, Renewable Energy by purchasing Green Certificates, marketed by 3 Phases Energy Services, in an amount equal to 100 percent of its energy use, or 16,560 kWh annually. This power will be generated by a wind facility in Oregon and will prevent 22,207 lbs of CO2, a key greenhouse gas, from entering the earth’s atmosphere. According to climate control experts, this commitment is equal to planting 1,325 trees or not burning 6.6 tons of coal. “The launch of this new practice area signals Trium’s commitment to helping business leaders build competitive advantage by working with the laws of nature rather than fighting them. This is the future of business in the 21st century,” says Jib Ellison, Trium’s sustainability consulting practice founder. “Purchasing Renewable Energy is a natural extension of all that we are working towards.”
