Oslo, Norway [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Statkraft and Catamount Energy Corporation have selected Siemens Wind Power turbines for the Blaengwen Wind Farm in Wales. The Blaengwen project is planned for a range of hills near Pencader north of the town of Carmarthen in south Wales.
The project will use 10 Siemens 2.3-megawatt (MW) turbines. Turbine deliveries will start in the summer of 2009 and the wind farm will begin commercial operations by autumn of that year.
The project, a 50-50 partnership between Catamount and Statkraft, will be the first of the partners’ four wind power projects in the UK to be completed. The project is being developed by Force 9 Energy in partnership with Catamount.
