Hamburg, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Conergy Wind GmbH, a subsidiary of Conergy AG, has announced the sale of its first two PowerWind 56 wind turbines to German project developer Energiequelle.
Energiequelle has also entered a strategic partnership with Conergy Wind for an option to acquire more PowerWind 56 wind turbines in 2008 and the two years that follow. Each machine has a capacity of 900 kilowatts (kW). Conergy is already operating three of the turbines in Bremerhaven, Germany and in southern Italy. The company estimates production of 100 wind turbines during the current year.
“Its full converter and trend setting cooling concept make the Conergy PowerWind 56 ideal for exporting to developing wind markets. The deliberately limited size of the system and its maximum height of 100 meters allow for maximum flexibility when it comes to usability and logistics, even in established markets such as Germany,” said Klaus Potter, Technical Managing Director at Conergy.
