Clipper Sells 200 MW of Turbines to UPC Wind

Carpinteria, California [] Clipper Windpower completed a new sales agreement with a subsidiary of UPC Wind for the supply of 200 megawatts (MW) of Clipper’s 2.5 MW Liberty wind turbines to be delivered in 2008. Clipper will deliver 80 Liberty wind turbines to be manufactured at the company’s Cedar Rapids, Iowa, facility, and provide installation supervision, operations and maintenance services for five years, the company says. The turbines will be utilized by UPC Wind for projects that will be developed in the western U.S. The announcement represents the third sales and service transaction completed this year between Clipper and UPC Wind, totaling 345 MW of 2.5 MW wind turbines to be delivered in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
