Central Vermont Public Service Announces Earnings for 2001

Central Vermont Public Service (CVPS) recently reported 2001 net income of US$2.4 million compared to 2000 net income of US$18.0 million. CVPS said the earnings were partly effected by rate increases and changes at unregulated subsidiary Catamount Energy Corporation, (CEC) designed to reposition the company for new growth in the wind industry. CEC will focus its growth on developing, owning and operating wind energy projects in the United States and Western Europe, the company said.
