Cartier Wind Power Completes Project

Cartier Wind Power Inc. has announced the official inauguration of its Anse-a-Valleau wind park, in Quebec, Canada. The park’s 67 turbines have a total installed capacity of approximately 100 megawatts (MW).

Construction of the project began in October 2006. The investment represents a budget of CAN$164 (USD$167.1 million). According to Cartier, the project was finished both on time and within budget. Eighty percent of the labor for the project came from the local area and more than 150 local workers were employed to build the project.

“The wind park of Anse-à-Valleau shows once more that while working all together, one can carry out great successes,” said Gilles Lefrancois, Chairman of the board of Cartier.
