Cape Wind Files Final Impact Report

Boston, Massachusetts [] Cape Wind reached another permitting milestone by filing its Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) on February 15 with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Office. The Cape Wind Project was the first offshore wind energy project proposed in the United States and it is now the first such project to file a final environmental impact document. Cape Wind President Jim Gordon stated, “We hope this filing brings the public benefits of cleaner air, greater energy independence and new jobs closer to becoming a reality for the citizens of Massachusetts.” The MEPA Office will take public comments on the FEIR for 30 days, beginning today and continuing through March 22.
