Canadian Wind Farm to Meet Grid Standards

February 11, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] American Superconductor Corporation will supply its D-VAR reactive power compensation system to Vision Quest Windelectric’s Summerview wind farm in southern Alberta, enabling the project to meet the voltage control standards required for interconnection to the Alberta grid. The system will be located in Summerview’s 138 kV substation and augment the reactive power compensation capabilities of the wind farm’s Vestas V80 1.8 MW turbines.
