BWEA Hosts UK Wind Conference

Offshore wind energy and its role in the United Kingdom’s future energy supply will be the focus of ‘UK Offshore Wind 2002’ next month in London.

LONDON, England 2002-03-22 [] Organized by the industry in conjunction with Government and the Crown Estate, the largest ever conference will feature: -Energy Minister Brian Wilson giving the Government views on the potential for offshore wind -The announcement of the winner of the Northern Ireland offshore wind farm competition -First sight of the process that will lead to the award of further offshore leases -Publication of British Wind Energy Association ‘Health & Safety Guidance’ for the offshore industry and ‘Best Practice Guidelines: Consultation for Offshore Wind Energy Developments’. An additional 40 expert speakers will give you an insight into every aspect of UK offshore wind, including DTI, UKOOA, National Grid Company, BMAPA, European Wind Energy Association, WWF, Countryside Council for Wales, Garrad Hassan, Greenpeace, General Electric, National Wind Power, Powergen Renewables, Civil Aviation Authority, Ernst and Young and many more. The event will be held April 17-18 at the Paragon Hotel, London.
