Blackfeet Wind Farm Project Halted

May 17, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] SeaWest WindPower’s proposal to build and operate up to 66 MW of wind power on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana has been halted. The Bonneville Power Authority was considering purchasing the full electrical output from the facility. Citing high costs, the project has been stopped. Avian studies in the area will continue for future use by the tribe or the wind developer.
