AWEA Hires Gregory Wetstone to Oversee Its Governmental & Public Affairs

Washington, DC [] The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) announced that Gregory Wetstone, who has previously held senior positions both on Capitol Hill and in the environmental community, has joined its staff as Senior Director for Government and Public Affairs. Wetstone will report to AWEA’s Executive Director Randall Swisher and serve as a member of the organization’s management committee. He will oversee a new initiative in AWEA’s legislative and communications efforts. For nearly 30 years, Wetstone has worked on legislative matters and advocacy programs that have shaped conservation and environmental law. As Chief Environmental Counsel for the House Energy and Committee’s Health and Environment Subcommittee, he played a key role in negotiating and drafting a number of important environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 1986, the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act and the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act.
