Atlantic Wind pursues North Carolina wind power project

Atlantic Wind has proposed a wind farm located in Perquimans and Pasquotank counties, North Carolina, said a PJM Interconnection study on the project dated October 2016.

The installed facilities will have a total capability of 150 MW with 19.5 MW of this output being recognized by PJM as capacity. The proposed in-service date for this project is Dec. 31, 2019.

This study does not imply a Virginia Electric and Power commitment to this in-service date. This project, under queue #AB1-077, will interconnect with the Virginia Electric transmission system as a tap into the Swamp 230-kV substation.

The intent of this System Impact Study is to determine a plan, with approximate cost and construction time estimates, to connect the subject generation interconnection project to the PJM network. It is a mid-point in a queue process that leads to an interconnection service agreement.
