Acciona Completes Australian Wind Project

Spanish wind development company Acciona has completed the commissioning of its biggest windpark in Australia.

Located in the state of Victoria, the Waubra wind farm has a capacity of 192 MW and represents an investment of A$450 million (€270 million). The project consists of 128 Acciona Windpower AW-1500 wind turbines of 1.5 MW each.

Brett Thomas, Acciona’s director for the Asia-Pacific area, has declared that the start-up of the project: “represents a highly important milestone for Acciona, the region of Waubra and the renewables sector in Australia.”
