500 Wind Powered Computers, and Counting

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Engineering firm CH2M Hill in Canada has joined the wind crowd. CH2M contracted with the Pembina Institute to purchase renewable energy certificates (REC) equal to the amount of power consumed by the over 500 computers and laptops used by the employees. The contract is part of a 20,000 Computers Campaign organized by Pembina, which encourages businesses and individuals to support wind power through REC purchases. Power purchases through the institute are put directly into the area’s power grid so all of the electric customers in the area will benefit.
