4,250 kW Wind Plant in Japan

April 29, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] Kyudenko Corp. has completed a five turbine wind power project built at a cost of ¥700 million (US$5.4 million) in Chiba Prefecture. The turbines are each 850 kW units that provide a total power generation capacity of 4,250 kW, enough to power about 2,000 households. The wind-based power station is expected to provide environmental benefits equivalent to an annual reduction of about 5,058 tons in carbon dioxide emissions.
