West Virginia Considers Net Metering

October 16, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The Virginia Public Service Commission wants to know if the purchase of home-produced electricity by large utilities is an option in West Virginia. Net metering has been used in states that have deregulated their electric industry. The concept is also being tried in seven of the 33 states that have regulated industries. The commission has asked utility companies to report back by January 2 so a proposal can be produced by April.
