Veterans Affairs Establish Energy Program

June 16, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is developing an agency-wide program to improve energy efficiency and conservation in the department’s facilities. The energy conservation program will promote reduction of GHG, energy consumption per square foot, expanding the use of renewable energy, reducing the use of petroleum and overall water consumption and promotion of energy-efficient construction and building design. Existing energy program initiatives will be brought under the umbrella of the Office of Management, which will establish and coordinate department-wide energy policies and programs.
