Union of Concerned Scientists Slams Energy Bill

November 18, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) has spoken out strongly against the current energy bill. The nationally renowned organization said America needs an energy policy that increases the country’s energy security and protects the environment. Instead they said the Energy Bill takes the U.S. backwards, “…by opening our public lands to oil and gas drilling, letting polluters off the hook for contaminating our drinking water, and funneling billions of dollars in taxpayer money to polluting industries.” Perhaps their animated short film on the internet best articulates how they feel about the pending legislation.
