The Green Curtain

Every once in a while, scanning the “major” news sites reveals an interesting story about the environment or more specifically RE. A story at MSNBC.COM, although not really RE related, will interest those of you with a broader environmental interest. It’s a surprising piece about Eastern Block countries that actually benefited from being behind the Iron Curtain. While there are some devastating, long-term environmental impacts in those countries, there was a lack of development during the Iron Curtain years allowing existing ecosystems – and their inhabitants – to thrive.
