tenKsolar launches PV module with third-gen solar PV technology

tenKsolar’s new RAIS photovoltaic (PV) module uses mono-crystalline solar cells to provide 180W power under Standard Test Conditions and a peak power rating of 262W when integrated into the Redundant Array of Integrated Solar (RAIS) Wave System using RAIS Wave Light-Smart reflectors.

May 23, 2011 — tenKsolar’s new RAIS photovoltaic (PV) module uses mono-crystalline solar cells to provide 180W power under Standard Test Conditions (STC) and a peak power rating of 262W when integrated into the Redundant Array of Integrated Solar (RAIS) Wave System using RAIS Wave Light-Smart reflectors.

The UL1703 and UL1741 certified RAIS PV module comprises high-efficiency mono-crystalline silicon (cSi) solar cells assembled in a proprietary cell matrix configuration.

tenKsolar’s RAIS Cell Optimizing Architecture provides cell-level maximum power point tracking (MPPT), integrated ground fault detect, and auto shutdown safety features.

The tenKsolar RAIS Wave solution offers a complete, turnkey commercial rooftop solar photovoltaic system offering good energy density, low voltage, and low cost of installation. “The RAIS Wave system provides the best overall value in solar, generating up to 60% more energy per roof, the highest reliability, requiring no roof penetrations, and unmatched safety,” said Dallas Meyer, founder and president of tenKsolar.

The RAIS 180W/262W PV module will be available for shipments beginning in third quarter of 2011.
