Taking a TH!NK for a Ride

As a premier sponsor of the SFO CleanAir Vehicle Expo, Ford Motor Company is showcasing its Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) division and TH!NK Mobility, the brand that exclusively markets and sells battery electric vehicles.

SAN FRANCISCO, California – May 9, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The sponsorship is representative of Ford’s leading edge technology in the realm of natural gas and electric vehicles. The event was held on the rooftop of SFO’s new International Parking Garage G. The CleanAir event exhibited both gaseous and electric alternative fuel vehicles, providing information to fleet owners on how to fund and build an alternative fuel vehicle fleet. As part of its continuing effort to raise awareness on the need to preserve air quality in California, Ford Motor Company is sponsoring the event by bringing together its two leading brands that clearly support automotive innovation for reduced emissions. These brands, Ford AFV and TH!NK Mobility will display and host a Ride and Drive of their alternative fuel product offerings. “TH!NK Mobility is pleased to sponsor an event that affords us the opportunity to create clean air awareness and reach our target customer base,” said Stu Smith, National Sales & Marketing Manager, TH!NK Mobility. “We are committed to providing innovative, cost-effective mobility solutions to fleet owners who are looking for a way to help make their community’s environment cleaner.” The SFO CleanAir Vehicle Expo also included informative sessions hosted by members of the US Department of Energy, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the Air Resources Board. Following the sessions, attendees had the opportunity to participate in Alternative Fuel Vehicle Ride and Drives. “Our alternative fuel vehicles deliver the same high-quality performance and safety standards that customers have come to expect from Ford Motor Company products,” said Beryl Stajich, AFV Marketing/Business Strategy Manager for Ford’s Alternative Fuel Vehicles. “San Francisco is a city on the cutting edge of clean vehicle technology, and our participation in this Expo is critical to providing our customers access to driving and experiencing the benefits of alternative fuel vehicles for themselves.”
