Silver pastes debut from Heraeus in time for PVSEC

Heraeus released SOL9383 and SOL9400 silver pastes for solar cell manufacture. SOL9383 is formulated to make contact on P+ surface of N-Type Cells. SOL9400 targets use as a front-side silver paste for crystalline silicon photovoltaics.

(September 1, 2010) — Heraeus released SOL9383 and SOL9400 silver pastes for solar cell manufacture. SOL9383 is formulated to make contact on P+ surface of N-Type Cells. SOL9400 targets use as a front-side silver paste for crystalline silicon photovoltaics.

SOL9383, formulated for n-Type monocrystalline cells, makes reportedly excellent contact on P+ surface of N-Type Cells. This Heraeus silver paste is meant to help commercialize N-Type cell technology. Yingli Green Energy has incorporated the SOL9383 into their “PANDA” project, which have achieved 19% cell efficiencies in the pilot production line.

The Heraeus Photovoltaic Business Unit has also begun introduction of a new line of front side silver pastes, the SOL9400 Series, that provides greater performance over Heraeus’ current industry leading pastes for crystalline photovoltaic cells. It is an improvement on the SOL9235H (released in early 2009) for metallization.
