Report: Energy Demand, Supply Will Grow

2002-03-28 [] World energy consumption is projected to increase by 60 percent from 1999 to 2020, with much of the growth expected in the developing world, according to a report issued by the US Energy Information Administration. The report, International Energy Outlook 2002, states that worldwide energy use will grow from 382 quadrillion British thermal units (Btu) in 1999 to 612 quadrillion Btu in 2020.
