Renewable Energy Options in Massachusetts

September 24, 2003 [] Westborough, Massachusetts-based Conservation Services Group, a supplier of renewable energy and energy efficiency services, selected Energy Services Group to provide transaction processing for consolidated billing in support of the National Grid renewable energy program. The new program, which commences on September 30, will allow Massachusetts Electric and Narragansett Electric customers to specify an energy service which is tied to environmentally friendly energy generation such as landfill gas, biomass, solar, geothermal, and fuel cells. Energy Services Group, a provider of billing and back office services for energy companies, will offer renewable energy supplier certification as well as ongoing transaction processing services for the customers of Conservation Services Group, which owns and sells the output of renewable energy assets and currently provides National Grid with the renewable energy mandated to augment the default and standard offer energy service.
