Renewable Energy Industry Growth Forum

The 15th National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Industry Growth Forum will be held October 29 and 30 at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Albany, New York.

Golden, Colorado – October 28, 2002 [] It is expected to be the largest clean energy venture forum held to date and will bring together an unprecedented group of business professionals focused on the emerging clean energy market, said NREL. This even will focus exclusively on clean energy technology companies, with products to serve the biomass, wind, hydrogen, photovoltaics, energy efficiency, fuel cell, power quality, and energy storage technology markets. More than 100 financiers including venture capitalists, angel investors, commercial and investment bankers and private lenders, as well as representatives of the nation’s largest and most innovative energy companies – will attend the event. Thirty of the top clean energy companies will present their business plans in the “National Clean Energy Venture Competition,” sponsored by Bechtel. First held in 1995, NREL Forums provide clean energy companies with expert advice and insights into the venture capital community, according to NREL. The Industry Growth Forum is organized by NREL in partnership with NYSERDA and two members of the National Alliance of Clean Energy Business Incubators, Albany NanoTech and the Rensselaer Incubator Program. A panel will explore the recent forecasts that predict the clean energy market will grow dramatically in the next decade, driven by a confluence of factors: rising environmental pressures, increased security concerns, need for better power quality and reliability, and technological advances.
