Renewable Energy Efforts for Denver Stadium

[] Kroenke Sports Enterprises and Xcel Energy announced a partnership at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado that will promote conservation, renewable energy efforts in Colorado, and support of low-income energy assistance programs. As part of the agreement, Xcel Energy will evaluate and audit the arena’s current energy practices and improvements, and assist Kroenke Sports engineering staff with building recommendations to improve energy efficiency. In addition, Pepsi Center will feature a number of new, interactive displays and information on renewable energy and support of Energy Outreach Colorado. Xcel Energy’s Windsource program and energy-efficient lighting already are two of the initial programs underway at the arena. In February, Pepsi Center will also begin purchasing 12,000 kWh per month of green power through Xcel Energy’s Windsource program.
