Quebec Studies Wind Energy Options

March 4, 2004 [] Quebec’s Rýgie de l’ýnergie is conducting a review of the province’s energy needs to 2010 and of the options, including wind power development, which it has to meet growing demand, according to the Canadian Wind Energy Association. The review comes at the request of the government, which suspended construction of an 840 MW natural gas-fired power plant near Montreal in the face of public opposition to the project.
