September 26, 2011 – BUSINESS WIRE — Petra Solar launched its IntelliView smart energy platform for utilities managing a range of smart grid applications.

IntelliView combines smart grid network infrastructure management and renewable energy management services, Dr. Shihab Kuran, president and CEO of Petra Solar. The platform is scalable to future smart grid needs, such as energy efficiency, energy conservation, grid reliability and smart microgrids.

The IntelliView platform analyzes smart grid application data for remote management of large distributed energy systems. The Network Management System (NMS) forms the basis, with a dashboard-style display of the communications network. Alerts, performance summaries, and mesh networking diagnostics enable problem identification and resolution. The Energy Management System (EMS) module provides a centralized view of a virtual power plant consisting of a large installed base of SunWave smart solar systems distributed over a broad geographical area. Users can ensure peak generation. Additional data-analytics modules can be used as well.

The Petra Solar Network Operations Center (NOC) also expands its smart energy services offering from support of SunWave smart solar systems to the option for full remote 24/7 operations of Petra Solar designed smart grid networks. Petra Solar technical staff can help manage, monitor, and troubleshoot installed systems.

Petra Solar combines distributed solar energy generation with smart grid communications and improved grid reliability features. For more information about Petra Solar visit www.petrasolar.com.
