PennFuture Report Outlines State Goals

September 25, 2003 [] Calling the state’s budget crisis “a historic opportunity to jettison economic development ideas from the past and move our state into the 21st Century,” John Hanger, President and CEO of Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future (PennFuture), along with Pennsylvania State Representative Greg S. Vitali (D-Delaware County), Subcommittee Chairman on Energy for the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, released PennFuture’s Policy Agenda for Environmental Quality and Economic Development, “Going for the Gold and Green,” in Harrisburg. The report incorporates 12 areas for immediate action to move Pennsylvania’s economy and environment forward. These areas include ensuring the reliability of Pennsylvania’s electric system, investment in green infrastructure, promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency.
