Solana Beach, California [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Open Energy Corporation announced this week an MOU establishing an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) relationship with Oregon-based inverter manufacturer PV Powered to provide solar energy inverters and monitoring systems to the new home construction industry.
These products will be distributed primarily through Open Energy’s national distribution agreement with Eagle Roofing Products of Rialto, CA, one of the largest roofing tile manufacturers in the U.S.
“This relationship enables Open Energy to offer its customers ‘end-to-end’ integrated solar systems targeted specifically to the new residential construction market,” said David Field, COO of Open Energy. “We now can provide our customers with fully monitored, maintained and supported solar electric solutions designed specifically for new home buyers, with customer service functions designed for our building products and construction channel partners.”
Under this agreement, PV Powered will provide OEM versions of its residential, grid-tied solar power inverters combined with Open Energy’s SolarSave® roofing tile products to deliver building-integrated photovoltaic systems that can be easily installed by roofing contractors and electricians.
“We chose to work with PV Powered because of their innovative products and service delivery platform, both of which are well positioned to support our channel partners in the building integrated PV marketplace,” commented David Trepeck, VP of Solar Solutions for Open Energy.
“By combining compatible products into complete solar power generation solutions, we lower our customers’ risk and maximize their energy harvest,” said Gregg Patterson, PV Powered CEO. “And by working closely with Open Energy and Eagle Roofing Products, we can ensure a level of customer experience that is unmatched in the industry.”
