New York Announces $10 M Renewable Energy Product Manufacturing Incentive Program

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) recently announced a new program aimed at expanding the level of manufacturing of renewable, clean, and energy-efficient products in New York.

The program provides up to $1.5 million in financial assistance for developing manufacturing facilities to manufacture eligible products in New York State. Proposals are now being accepted and a total of $10 million is available.

Eligible products include renewable or clean energy products that produce or support the production of renewable or clean electricity, energy-efficient end-use technologies that use electricity as a principal input and result in a substantial increase in the efficient use and or conservation of electricity compared to the status quo, and electric storage technologies for grid-connected applications.

In order to be eligible, products should be beyond the prototype stage and mature enough to warrant designing and building or expanding a commercial manufacturing facility.
