National Energy Network Names President

April 19, 2004 [] Philip Fairey, Interim Director of the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC), has been named President of the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). RESNET’s mission is to improve the energy efficiency of the nation’s homes and to qualify more families for home ownership by expanding the national availability of mortgage financing options and home energy ratings. RESNET is the industry association that represents the nation’s home energy rating system (HERS) industry, which is now rapidly growing in all 50 states with more than 4,000 home energy raters and numerous allied organizations. A graduate of Clemson University with a B.A. degree in architecture and a master’s degree in city and regional planning, he has been with FSEC since 1980. Fairey initiated the center’s building science research program, and was honored by the University of Central Florida as its university-wide distinguished researcher in 1987. He served as FSEC’s Deputy Director from 1990 until 2002, when he was named Interim Director.
