Mitsubishi Develops Home Power Fuel Cell

June 13, 2002 [] Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. has developed a compact fuel cell for power generation at home and expects to start producing samples around the end of the year. Japan’s largest comprehensive heavy machinery maker said researchers at its Hiroshima laboratory have developed a technology that eliminates the use of a nitrogen bottle from an existing prototype polymer electrolyte fuel cell. The fuel cell, which can generate 1 kilowatt of power, measures 80 centimeters wide by 30 cm long by 1 meter high.
