Malaysia to Increase Use of RE

September 10, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] The Malaysian electricity utility, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, will begin buying electricity at a higher price from smaller independent power producers (IPPs) which generate power from Renewable Energy sources. This is to encourage more IPPs to use Renewable Energy sources, in line with the government’s target of obtaining five percent of the country’s electricity output supplied to the grid distribution system from Renewable Energy sources by 2005.
