Malaysia Set to Be Global Hub for Solar Technology

Putrajaya, Malaysia [] Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi wants Malaysia to be a global hub for solar technology and tap the potential revenue churned out by the industry. As reference, he said the worldwide solar photovoltaic (PV) industry sales in the year 2006 alone were estimated at RM35 billion. … Abdullah said he was pleased to note that First Solar Incorporated, a U.S company, had invested more than RM500 million in Kedah to set up a 100 mega-watt (MW) solar PV manufacturing facility.
