February 23, 2011 — Critical Manufacturing, software provider for solar, electronics and semiconductors industries, won an order from Juli New Energy Co. Ltd., subsidiary of Juli Group, located in Baoding, China. The PV producer selected cmNavigo’s Solar Edition MES for Critical Manufacturing.
Juli New Energy manufactures high-quality photovoltaic products using advanced equipment, serving civil, commercial, industrial and large-scale public facilities off-grid and on-grid. Juli’s Baoding facilities have 400MW/year production capacity of crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells, and 600MW/year production capacity of solar modules.
The implementation will be performed by Critical Manufacturing’s Chinese entity.

cmNavigo’s 3.0 Solar Edition is a new-generation MES system entirely based on the latest Microsoft Technologies, created to address the most complex and demanding requirements of photovoltaic facilities, ensuring traceability from silicon and ingot to finished panel, while efficiently managing all aspects of highly automated facilities and manufacturing intelligence needs, according to the company.
Juli New Energy is a perfect fit for the Solar Edition, given the need to cover the full manufacturing cycle of mono and poly crystalline products, from crystallization and wafering, through cell manufacturing, to finalized solar modules, said Yong-Wun Lau, Critical Manufacturing’s China MD. Lau notes that Juli’s Baoding facility executes with high automation and significant volume, so it requires a system that can efficiently cope with modeling of all materials, containers and equipment throughout the manufacturing lines, while simultaneously performing efficiently under the high load and automation requirements.
