Chicago, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Intertek has signed a partnership agreement with Photovoltaic Institute – Berlin, under which Photovoltaic Institute – Berlin will be able to test photovoltaic modules and related products in Germany on behalf of Intertek. Testing will be preliminary to the issuing of Intertek’s ETL Mark for North American market access.
“Photovoltaic Institute-Berlin’s solar energy expertise and local laboratory facilities perfectly integrate within our global network and position us to offer our clients local testing for global markets,” said Brian Kramak, director of energy services at Intertek. “We will continue to develop partnerships that will provide manufacturers with faster and more efficient testing and certification.”
The company also announced that it has acquired from Sagentia the assets of Sagentia Catella AB, a laboratory and consultancy for the energy storage industry, including batteries, super capacitors and fuel cells for the wind, solar, automotive and telecommunications markets. The new acquisition will be integrated into the Intertek Commercial & Electrical Division and will be managed by Intertek’s Swedish operations located in Kista, Sweden.
Intertek’s PV testing program combines strategic geography – including two full-scale PV testing laboratories that can initiate projects in as little as two weeks. Intertek is one of only three OSHA-approved Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) in the United States accredited to test photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, and the exclusive source of the ETL Listed Mark.
