Imagine a Hydrogen Economy

RE Outlook 2003 – Imagine a world where everything is powered by energy derived from material as basic as water…an energy with no environmental issues…a low-cost energy…an energy that would never run out…an energy every country could source from within their own borders.

RE Outlook 2003 – January 14, 2003 – Imagine a world where everything is powered by energy derived from material as basic as water…an energy with no environmental issues…a low-cost energy…an energy that would never run out…an energy every country could source from within their own borders. Imagine that the energy could be delivered to anybody, anywhere at anytime and that it had built-in intelligence…that it could power every existing vehicle, home, building or device today, without waiting for that future and without waiting for new infrastructure to be built. It can happen now because oil is quantifiably running out and at greater risk of interdiction that ever before in history and there is no turning back. The “new energy economy” is technically ready to happen on a global scale, the only gating factor is politics. You can help make this happen with your personal efforts: get everybody you know to wear a “HYDROGEN ENERGY NOW” T-Shirt and/or put a similar bumper sticker on their vehicle; write all of your elected officials and get your friends to write, too. Tell them that you want: tax and other incentives for venture capital groups that invest in hydrogen solutions; tax and other credits for consumers who buy, and companies who sell, hydrogen solutions; US$5 billion for the Department of Energy to help roll out hydrogen systems; public awareness programs about hydrogen advantages to be funded. Other actions you could take are to contact your local schools and get new energy education and promotion programs and fairs started or contacting your mayor and governor and ask them to put a new energy conversion program in place. Working together, through our networks of contacts, we can clear the final hurdle and bring this solution to the world, together.
