Illinois Jumps on the Fuel Cell Wagon

April 24, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Illinois Coalition kicked off the first “Building an Illinois Fuel Cell Industry” meeting at the Gas Technology Institute in Des Plaines, Illinois. The meeting was the first in a series of meetings to lay the groundwork for capitalizing on Illinois’ opportunity in the fuel cell industry. The Illinois Coalition and DCEO are facilitating the collaboration of industry, government, and academic leaders to develop a unified action plan that will lead to the development of a productive fuel cell industry in Illinois over the next five years. The meeting included presentations by the United States Department of Energy, Argonne National Lab, Gas Technology Institute, Illinois Institute of Technology, Caterpillar and John Deere. Start-up companies H2Fuel and HyRadix were also on-hand to present their innovations in this industry.
