Illinois Aims for Hydrogen

July 11, 2003 []Illinois 2H2, established by the Illinois Coalition and Illinois’ Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to create an industry cluster centered on the development of hydrogen as an energy carrier, recently held a meeting of leaders in the public and private sector. The meeting focused on devising programs to attract major hydrogen-related research programs, promotion of technology transfer, and creation of culture conducive to the formation and growth of hydrogen economy businesses. The meeting concluded with a goal to create a strategic action play by the end of November centered on hydrogen and fuel cell opportunities, which will be presented to governing bodies on the federal, state and local levels.
