Hydrogen Storage Systems In Development

QUANTUM Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc., was recently awarded a contract from Suzuki Motor Corporation to develop and supply complete hydrogen fuel storage systems for Suzuki’s fuel cell vehicle.

Irvine, California – September 24, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] QUANTUM has been commissioned by Suzuki to design and integrate hydrogen fuel systems that include QUANTUM’s proprietary ultra-lightweight, all composite TriShield hydrogen tanks and its patented in-tank regulator. The 5,000 psi systems will be designed and tested to meet industry standards in the U.S., Japan and Europe (EIHP). The completed hydrogen fuel systems will be delivered to Suzuki to meet their fast-track fuel cell vehicle development program. “Hydrogen storage and metering technologies are critical systems required for the development and commercialization of the fuel cell vehicles,” said Hiroshi Tsuda, Senior Managing Director of Suzuki. “QUANTUM is a natural choice for the development of hydrogen fuel systems for Suzuki as a result of their rapid advancement of storage technologies and their extensive experience in automotive applications of gaseous fuels technologies.”
