San Francisco, California – October 15, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] FST, Inc. a hydrogen storage and distribution company has announced the immediate availability and licensing opportunity for OEM partners of the Decom300-A2, its solid-state hydrogen storage and delivery product. The unit is designed to fuel cars, a broad range of industrial generators, remote and back up power systems for ISPs, homes, paramedics and other energy consumers. The Decom300-A2 is a PC-sized appliance that safely and cost-effectively processes hydrogen through FST’s proprietary miniature hydrogen storage cartridges known as Fuel Cassettes. Fuel Cassettes are the first hydrogen products designed to be safely mailed and/or delivered via FedEx, UPS or any mail carrier or picked up at local grocer or other common retail outlets. “The combination of our Decom300-A2 and our “intelligent” FST Fuel Cassettes act as a one-two punch to break through the cost and logistics barriers historically impeding global proliferation and commercialization of fuel cells and hydrogen as a fuel for virtually any type of existing combustion engine,” said Scott Redmond, CTO, FST. FST’s solid-state hydrogen storage system safely stores and releases more hydrogen at lower temperatures, in smaller housings, to deliver superior operating efficiencies than any currently announced solution. FST’s technology eliminates hydrogen storage, safety, insurance, plant and infrastructure problems associated with pressure tanks, liquid hydrogen, slurries and other hydrogen energy options.
