Group Expands Its Renewable Energy Holdings

Standard Renewable Energy Group, LLC (SREG) has closed on its acquisition of Contango Capital Management, becoming the largest integrated renewable energy company in Houston.

SREG builds, operates, and invests in renewable energy companies that provide energy conversion technologies and fuels used for transportation and to supply energy to homes and businesses. With the Contango Capital Management acquisition, SREG now has ownership interest in four emerging alternative energy companies: NewPoint Energy Solutions, L.P., Galveston Bay Biodiesel, L.P. (partially owned by Chevron Technology Ventures LLC), Gridpoint, and Trulite, Inc. “Through these companies, and other future operations and investments, SREG is committed to developing and selling clean renewable energy solutions to help improve our environment and extend our conventional energy resources,” said John Berger, Chairman and CEO, and an early entrepreneur in the renewable energy technology sector. NewPoint integrates renewable energy products (solar, wind, hydrogen fuel cells, energy control systems, and biodiesel generators) and energy efficiency products (advanced lighting and insulation technologies) into bundled solution sets for homeowners, builders, small businesses, and utilities.
