Group Advocates RFS

May 1, 2002 [] The Renewable Energy Action Project (REAP), an advocacy group, launched a national ad campaign last week supporting the renewable fuels standard (RFS) as part of the Senate energy bill, S. 517, which passed the body and now heads to conference. The full-page ads in The Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, Orange County Register, San Diego Union-Tribune and the San Francisco Chronicle spelled out how the RFS provision will mean cleaner air, cleaner water and less dependence on foreign oil, since it also bans MTBE.
